Scrapbook Retreat

"To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time."
--Clara Ortega

As you may remember, my mom got my sister and me tickets for a weekend scrapbooking retreat for Christmas. We finally got to go this past weekend, and it was HELLA. FUN.

The cabin was only about an hour away, in the middle of nowhere (i.e. Southern Indiana). The only other visitors was a group of five women and our hostess, Connie.

We spent the majority of our weekend in the basement, where several six-foot long tables were set up for all our scrapbooking needs, as well as a television, snack room, and Cricut station. Sweet!

There was also a deck, complete with hot tub, with a gorgeous view of the trees and hills. And all of our (DELICIOUS) meals were home cooked by Connie. She would even bring dessert down to the scrapbooking room late at night.

The other ladies were really nice, too, and very helpful. They taught us a few new techniques and showed us some cool scrapbooking tools that I absolutely need to purchase. However, they were a bit soccer mom-ish. They talked amongst themselves for the most part, and it was all, "Soccer, my kids, Twilight, Matthew McConaughey, soccer, Robert Pattinson, Twilight!!"

I worked on my Europe scrapbook the entire time, and I'm happy to announce that I was incredibly productive and creative. I finished all of Switzerland and a full Paris page. Maybe when I finish it I will take some pictures, but I dunno how well the photos will turn out.

Side note: Still running. Can do 30 minutes on a treadmill. Ran outside today for 26 minutes, but had to walk for 1 minute after 19.

Side note 2: We have a kindergartner at work named Cornelius. His friend, Demetria, cannot pronounce Cornelius. She therefore calls him "Chlymadias." Hahahaha.
